Revamp — Building While Becoming

A real and encouraging reflection on growing, leading, and building your future while you are still becoming the woman you are called to be. This post reminds us that progress still counts, even when the journey feels messy.

Hey lovelies,

Can we talk about something real for a minute?

A lot of people see the finished version of someone’s journey and assume it happened overnight. They see the degree, the title, the business, the confidence, the leadership role, the website, the products, or the “glow up” — but they rarely see the exhaustion, the self-doubt, the rebuilding season, or the nights you questioned everything.

What I’ve learned is this:

You can be building and becoming at the same time.

You do not have to wait until your life is perfectly organized to start creating the future you want.

For a long time, I thought growth had to look polished. I thought success meant having every answer before making a move. But honestly, some of the biggest shifts in my life started while I was still trying to figure things out.

I’ve built while tired.
I’ve created while overwhelmed.
I’ve pursued leadership while battling burnout.
I’ve shown up while still healing.
And somehow, through all of it, I kept becoming.

Maybe that’s where you are too.

Maybe you’re working a full-time job while trying to build something bigger.
Maybe you’re balancing school, responsibilities, bills, family, and dreams all at once.
Maybe you’re trying to reinvent yourself without losing yourself in the process.

I want you to know this:

Progress still counts even when it’s messy.

Some days growth looks productive.
Other days growth looks like simply refusing to quit.

As a nurse, care manager, entrepreneur, creator, and woman determined to grow beyond survival mode, I’ve realized that becoming is not a one-time event. It’s a constant process of stretching, learning, adjusting, and showing up again.

That’s one of the reasons I created Expressions of Sharon.

Not because I have life perfectly together.
Not because I’ve mastered everything.
But because I wanted to create a space where growth could be honest.

A space for the woman who is trying.
A space for the leader who feels unseen.
A space for the professional who knows they are capable of more.
A space for the dreamer who is tired of shrinking.

You do not need permission to evolve.

You are allowed to:

  • start over
  • pivot
  • dream bigger
  • outgrow old versions of yourself
  • pursue leadership
  • build multiple streams of income
  • become more disciplined
  • become more visible
  • become the version of yourself you keep seeing in your mind

And no, it will not always be easy.

But your future deserves your consistency more than your fear deserves your comfort.

Lately, I’ve been learning that clarity doesn’t always come before movement. Sometimes clarity comes while you’re moving.

One decision.
One uncomfortable action.
One brave step at a time.

So if you’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to start the blog, launch the business, apply for the leadership role, go back to school, write the book, start the podcast, or reinvent your life…

This is your reminder:

You do not have to become perfect before you become powerful.

Keep building.
Keep growing.
Keep becoming.

Your next level may already be waiting on the other side of the move you’re afraid to make.

With love,
