When Comfort Stops Serving You

Hey lovelies… I chose to move.

Not because it was easy—but because it was necessary.

There came a point in my life where staying still felt heavier than moving forward. Even though I had no guarantee of what was waiting on the other side, I knew I couldn’t keep living on autopilot. The version of me that was always accommodating, always overthinking, always playing it safe—that version had run its course.

So I moved.

Uncomfortable became my new normal. I started applying to jobs I wasn’t sure I’d get. I set boundaries I had never dared to set before. I stopped shrinking to fit spaces I had outgrown. I started standing in my truth—even when it shook me. Even when nobody noticed. Even when I wasn’t sure I believed in myself yet.

And let me tell you, it was awkward at first. Scary. I questioned myself constantly. My voice trembled when I spoke up. Sometimes I walked away wondering if I was too much, or not enough. No one was clapping. There was no instant reward. But I kept going.

Because deep down, I knew: growth lives in the discomfort. It doesn’t show up wrapped in clarity or applause. It shows up in quiet choices. In hard decisions. In saying, “This is not working for me anymore,” and walking away—even if your knees are shaking.

I had to rewire the way I spoke to myself. I stopped tearing myself down and started speaking like someone I loved. Saying to myself, “You deserve more.” Over and over, until I started to believe it.

And I stopped waiting. Waiting for someone to see me. Waiting for permission. Waiting to be rescued. I saved myself—with God as my anchor and grit as my guide.

Here’s what I’ve learned:
You don’t become your strongest self by playing it safe.
You grow by showing up in the mess.
By doing the work with shaky hands.
By trusting that you’re being shaped for something greater—even if no one else sees it yet.

If you’re feeling uncomfortable right now, don’t panic. That’s not failure. That’s transformation.

So sit in it. Learn from it. Push through it. Because the version of you that’s trying to break through? She’s worth it.

Comfort is familiar, yes. But growth? That’s where the magic is.

Thanks for reading, lovelies. If this spoke to you, share your journey with me. What’s the move you’re being called to make? I’m here—and I’m rooting for you. 💛
